
Prof Chowdhury delivers a comprehensive professional dermatology service at the Spire Cardiff Hospital and served for 24 years as Consultant Dermatologist at the Welsh Institute of Dermatology, University Hospital of Wales from 2001-2025.
I qualified from Leicester University in 1991 and trained in Dermatology in Newcastle, Sunderland and Cardiff and also held honorary posts in Dermatology units in Birmingham, Manchester and University of California, San Francisco.
I have extensive general dermatology experience including skin allergy, acne, rashes, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancers. I have written over 125 papers and book chapters and edited 5 books including latex allergy and on dermatology training for junior doctors. I have lectured nationally and abroad on various dermatology topics. I have co-written a dermatology book for medical students published in 2013 with second edition in 2019.
I had received a National 3 Clinical Impact Award in 2022 (held Silver Award 2018/Bronze Award 2012) for sustained and dedicated commitment to clinical excellence within the NHS. This award is a public acknowledgement of clinical expertise and high quality clinical work for patients.
